FUN THINGS IN ZARAGOZA

.Our next stop on this adventure through Spain

Is ZARAGOZA.  It is the fifth largest city in Spain

But not a usual stop over for tourist.

We checked into our Hotel and started to explore.

We are staying in the center of the old town which

Is always my first choice.  These wonderful site are

just steps from the Hotel.

There was a demonstration going on with lots of people

Going down the center of town.  It was loud and some fireworks,

but not threatening.  Their protest was toward the new owners of

The bus company who were laying off 153 bus drivers.

We had read of a Tapas Bar that specialized in mushrooms

sautéed in garlic so that and a cold beer were in order.

 We have been impressed on how clean the cities have been

and constantly seeing mechanized street sweeper and people

actually using brooms.  So with that in mind it was surprising

to see how people throw things on the floor in restaurants.

A little window shopping was callin me.

This fabric store made me wish I sewed.  Fabulous selected 

and appeared to be very reasonable.

John decided he wanted to find a old fashioned barber and

"Get cleaned up".  We found just the place.

All prettied up and ready for more walking.

I liked the way this lady was put together.

In all of our travels I have never seen a city with

So many kids and usually there were at least 2 

And most often 3 and 4.

We had the most consistently good food here in

Zaragoza.  Not one bad or even fair meal.

The vegetarian restaurant we loved in Barcelona 

Also had one here. TERESA CARLES

 The salad of thinly sliced zucchini 

Avocado and shaved Parmesan cheese with a very light

Tomatoe olive oil dressing is a must do at home.

One night we found an Italian restaurant that was a 

Nice change.

They eat late in Spain because they close the shops and offices

And most of the Museums from 2:00 to 5:00 and open again until

8:00.  Lots of the restaurants don't open until 9:00.  We are doing what the locals do.  

I think last night we started dinner about 10:00.

We really enjoyed ZARAGOZA.  From early morning

To the late walk back to the Hotel
