Morro Bay is a beautiful spot on the coast of
California west of San Luis Obispo.  In
this seaside hamlet THE GARDEN GALLERY
is a tasteful retail stand-out.
Owned and operated by husband and
wife team, Dick and Barbara,
they offer a perfect blend of indoor
and outdoor living products which capture
the essence of California living.

Most of the plants are grown on the property
and hand selected by Dick, a perfectionist
with an eye for detail.  The result is an experience
that can sometime feel like visiting a
fine arts exhibition.

If you like succulents and cacti you have come
to the right place.

Each original display of merchandise is
meticulously executed by Barbara.

This has been a favorite place to visit
and shop for over 30 years and
will remain so for many more.

reflect the easy elegance of a coastal life.

They have a treasure trove of hidden gems
in the showroom to select from.
Here is where they meet with clients
and create the custom furnishings
they have become known for.

They can be followed on FACEBOOK

I am truly lucky to be a sales rep in Southern
California.  Driving up the coast to
San Luis Obispo I sometime forget
that this is work.  This last
trip I decided to stop and enjoy a little of
the view before heading to my first appointment.

vibe created by Kim Stanier who has
been a popular retailer in San Luis Obispo
 for a longtime.
She has a great sense of style that you
see in the rustic elegance she displays in the store.
I have combined pictures from two visits
to the store so you see a variety of display.
This wonderful twig bed is the first
thing you see when you walk into the store.

are her bedding of choice.

I love this space with the high
ceilings and brick walls give way
to great visual displays.  This works well
with the vintage pieces mixed with the new.

The neutrals used in the furniture are
contrasted with the bright colors of

A nice assortment of soaps, lotions and candles
to choose from and I love the baskets
for making up gift sets.

This store is split between home decor
and fashion.  Kim mixes the two very well.

I usually find something I can't resist,
one of my trips I bought the cute long
sweater second on the left.

There is also a teen/children's area.

and we can't forget baby.

On your next trip up the coast of
Southern California be sure to
drop in and see this charming store and
say hi to Kim who always has a lovely smile.
