I had the pleasure of spending a few days in
the great city of Chicago. I went for the
International Casual Furniture Show where
my line FERMOBUSA was exhibiting.
I have always wanted to spend sometime there
so this was a great opportunity to combine some
business with pleasure. The show was at the
It is the largest commercial building in the
world and it spans two city blocks. It has
retail showrooms on the ground level, and
restaurants far better than most trade buildings
with a very nice view of the river.
A mix of wholesale showrooms and office space
occupy the upper 25 floors. I went to this
show to acquire more knowledge and expertise
on FERMOBUSA as well as seeing the new products.
Both of these objectives was achieved.
This cute little "Sixties Chair" was a big hit,
the pink is fun for a nice splash of color
and the green for the more practical customer
The "Surprising Lounger" has a footrest
that fits very nicely under the chair when not
being used.
The booth looked great showcasing some of the
24 colors that make this line so special.
color turns classic style into a contemporary look
as shown on the classic bistro set
The 1900's set was stunning in fuchia
another addition to the line that has so many
possibilities are the two new bar stools and high
table, either for residential use or commercial.
It was a good time at the show
and I was looking forward to the pleasure
part of the trip and get out and see Chicago.
This was pretty impressive, it was 2 tons and
hung from the ceiling
mobiles that I really enjoyed
and some of his sculptor beautifully displayed
on the grounds
This city does not lack culture, next stop
They have a restaurant on the roof that
has an outstanding view of Millennium Park
and serves a very nice lunch
We could have spent many days here, there
are so many exhibits and we only had a
couple of hours, it was fun seeing this famous
Mary Cassett "Mother and Child" painting
Chicago has a skyline and architecture which could
equally be considered the best of the world.
One of the best ways to see it is a River
Architecture Tour.
Here is the Sears Tower that was the
tallest building in the World and now is # 2.
A mix of styles and generations
This was one of my favorite sights on the river
I give you Chicago. It is not London and Harvard.
It is not Paris and buttermilk. It is American in
every chitling and sparerib. It is alive from snout to tail.
